Duties:
- Lead monthly close activities including accrual development, preparation of monthly journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations
- Be the Finance lead for R&D/MA functional areas globally
- Lead accrual management and financial monitoring of multiple Clinical Trials, working directly with the Senior Managers and Director Business Operations (Clinical Development) to provide financial stewardship and oversight
- Lead the completion of timely monthly management reporting, including detailed, in-depth variance analysis and commentaries
- Own the reconciliation of month close results to Group reported results
- Support all internal and external audit requests
- Manage Budgeting and Forecasting Cycles across all functions
- Manage Cost / Project Accounting Activities
- Manage Financial analysis activities to support decision making
- Global R&D Lead for Capex Management and Reporting
- Global Finance Business Partner to R&D and Medical Affairs Functions
- Lead monthly functional reviews with RDLT /MALT members and budget owners and provide proactive financial analyses, challenge and strategic insight to budget owners
- Educate non-finance staff on financial matters to improve financial awareness and responsibility across the Functions
- Support the ongoing development and roll-out of global R&D/MA business processes and initiatives to support enhanced visibility of development activity
- Leading the R&D/MA Finance Improvement initiative workstream for Monthly Reporting
- Leading Headcount Management for the R&D/MA organization, including in-depth analysis and monitoring; roll out of processes to the wider Seqirus organization
- Leading implementation of Tools
- Participate in developing tools, techniques and best practice approaches to support the ongoing development of the R&D Finance Team and the wider Finance community
- Champion the business partnering mind-set
- Supporting Global R&D Finance input in strategic projects, taking ownership for overall Project Management and Delivery of programs
- Contributing to tactical performance and cost optimisation initiatives
- Undertake individual and team training requirements, including tactical development activities.
- Participate in developing tools, techniques and best practice approaches to support the ongoing development of the R&D Finance and wider Finance community.
Skills:
- The role holder will be a finance professional with a minimum of 5 years of experience. Experience of working in finance in a global pharmaceutical/healthcare organisation is desired with good understanding of the R&D environment and project finance.
- Broad business / financial experience supported by strong analytical skills
- Good experience of project accounting
- Experience of Global working with multi-disciplinary/cross-cultural teams
- Demonstrated Knowledge of global and corporate business context
- Excellent organizational and communication skills – experience in a global environment with multi-disciplinary/cross-cultural teams
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, with multiple deliverables and tight deadlines

- Strong systems and software skills – advanced Excel skills a must, SAP experience strongly preferred

Education:
- Tertiary level qualified in accounting, finance or business-related field, CPA/CA qualifications, minimum 5 years of finance experience, specifically management accounting experience, good understanding of R&D environment / project finance desirable.
