R&D Materials Handler

Responsibilities include:

• Support all receiving activities for all supplies and equipment for the site, including materials receipt, stocking, properly label, and storage of materials in accordance with Semma standards
• Organize and maintain common lab stock
• Lab support, including handling of hazardous waste
• Vendor management relating to stock materials and equipment services
• Design and maintain organized and detailed cold storage documentation
• Point of contact for shipping of materials
• Additional responsibilities to support Materials Management as designated by management

Required qualifications:

• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech/medical device industry
• Experience in handling routine laboratory chemicals and biological materials; experience in tissue culture laboratories preferred
• Familiarity with general safety procedures and practices within a BSL 2 lab
• Exceptional organizational, record-keeping and communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to perform the physical demands of the role, including lifting moderately heavy boxes, prolonged standing, pushing gas tanks, etc.
• Ability to proactively problem solve in a fast paced environment
• Authorized to legally and permanently work in US
• College Degree – Life Sciences major/minor is preferable

Preferred qualifications:

• Understanding of BSL2 labs and general best practices in Biotech
• Enterprise purchasing/receiving system experience
• Dangerous Goods Shipping Certified (IATA and DOT) highly desirable
• Materials management experience a plus
